The NYT is an organisation I have been part of for 6 years of my life, so this is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate with them this year on the Shaftesbury Theatre stage, in the West End. There are alumni from all disciplines, we are revisiting some incredible scripts, showcasing glorious craftsmanship, and costume design by all the departments with a huge bunch of 85 talented actors sharing the stage as a core ensemble.
The process has been tough - but it made an incredible show. So many talented individuals making their presence known.
I was lucky enough to sing a duet of 'Use Somebody' Kings of Leon - remixed with the very talented Steff. I was doubly lucky - I also got to perform a scene from 'The Astronauts Wives Club' written by NYT alumnus Al Smith. I played Betty Grissom - a founding member of the club, who certainly knew her way around the whiskey cabinet. A fantastic piece definitely worth a read - his play Harrogate is on at the Royal Court this October.
It was an incredible opportunity and one I was very glad to have done. Some glorious people and some incredible talent. Well done one and all!
